Phil Donahue on why Nader should be in the debates.
A vigorous progressive voice is being silenced with what appears to be the quiet approval of the TV networks and most of the media. No stranger to Big Business, major media seem bent on marginalizing the only man in the race who wants more teeth in regulatory agencies, more enforcement of antitrust laws, total unqualified guarantees of all constitutional rights for gays, illegal immigrants and other minorities, more respect for privacy protections and due process, an end to the commercialization of children, fewer nonviolent offenders in jail and trade policies that protect powerless people here and around the world.
This is kind of depressing. Good thing I went for a run this morning.
Exercise may fight depression better than drug, study says.
Exercisers who had been in remission after 4 months were far less likely to see their depression return after 10 months, compared with people taking the drug or a combination therapy, the study found. Sony claims that will give the workstation the power to render 4.16 billion polygons per second, leading to frame rates of 60fps at 1980×1080 pixels. The company reckons that’s enough to render movie-level effects in real time.
osOpinion: Yet Another Problem With Windows 2000.
However, [Windows 2000] is still clearly nowhere near equal to Unix in terms of scalability, stability, and other key characteristics. And given its basic code and architecture, it is very unlikely that a series of service packs could allow it to catch up. With all this in mind, it is clear what is going to happen. At some point in the next few years, Microsoft is going to initiate another radical, billion dollar re-write, hoping to produce a new version–let us call it Windows 2005–in the hopes of finally catching up with Unix.
