Sun’s Jonathon Schwartz has a silly post about why people should buy Solaris. He claims that Red Hat co-opted the open-source “societal movement” on which Sun was founded (“They’re not the real open-source company, we are! sniffle“). He claims they’ll be an open-source Solaris coming but from this article it sounds like it will be Java-style not-actually-open-source. So no real embrace of open-source, no real embrace of Linux, and Sun’s bold new strategy for recovering from their downward spiral is… keep doing what they’ve been doing. I’m glad I’m not a Sun investor. [via rc3]
