Perl developer Chip Salzenberg complained about his employer's illegal web site harvesting and open proxy abuse and they responded by reporting him to police and suing him for misappropriating trade secrets. In April, Chip's home was raided by police and all his computer equipment was seized. The DA dropped the criminal investigation but the civil case is ongoing, a legal defense fund has been established.
